From statements to categories: a look at the experience we’re building for the beta.

What we’re building

See where your money went. And what still fits this month.

  1. Upload your bill or statement.

PDF or CSV, right in your conversation with Acetate.

  2. Acetate categorizes it.

In the video, “FRM*STDO” becomes “Health & fitness”.

  3. Understand what’s left.

See totals by category and estimate what’s left, considering income, bills and installments.

How much went to restaurants this month?

See that category’s spending together, without finding each purchase on your statement.

Does an installment plan end next month?

See how finishing those payments could change what’s left in your budget.

“If I pay for a €2,000 trip to Ibiza in installments, can I keep investing the same amount each month?”
We want to compare the trip’s cost with your bills and installments to help you decide.

Talk to Acetate. In iMessage or Telegram.

You’ll ask whether the trip fits your budget and get a reminder about tomorrow’s bill. On iPhone or Android.

iMessage

iPhone

Example conversation with Acetate in iMessage. A person asks about paying for a €2,000 trip to Ibiza in installments while continuing to invest. Acetate proposes comparing the new payments with installments that are ending. The compose field is visible.

Telegram

iPhone & Android

Example Acetate reminder in Telegram: today is the 9th and the electricity bill is due tomorrow, the 10th. Acetate has not found a payment confirmation and asks whether the person has paid. The person replies that they will check. The compose field is visible.

Privacy

When you sign up, your email, optional name and signup source go to PostHog to understand which channels bring interested people. Your written message stays in the team’s email; it does not go to PostHog. Resend sends the acknowledgement and team notification. We record page loads, language and source with a temporary identifier, linked to your signup if you submit the form during that visit. We use no analytics cookies, session recordings or video events. A cookie remembers your language. To leave the waitlist or request removal of your data, email hello@acetate.me. Removal is manual and covers records under our control; providers may retain operational records under their own policies. In the Acetate beta, PDFs are discarded after processing. Your stored financial history is end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read it. File processing, waitlist emails and analytics are separate from that encrypted history. Messages in iMessage and Telegram also follow each platform’s privacy and encryption conditions. This browser can remember your signup receipt for up to 30 days using local storage. The receipt stores its result, submission ID and timestamp, not your name, email or written message. It does not show live waitlist membership.
